After a stellar career at Auburn University, Carlos was the first selection (9th Overall) by the Washington Redskins in the 2005 NFL Draft.  Despite battling some nagging injuries his rookie year, Rogers proved worthy of his first-round selection, playing in 12 games with five starts in his rookie campaign. He was solid in pass coverage and run support, recording 40 tackles (34 solo), two forced fumbles and two interceptions. Carlos looks to become an even bigger part of the Redskins' defense in the years to come.

2006:
  • Rogers started 15 games for the Redskins, missing one game due to a fractured thumb. He recorded 88 tackles (71 solo), fifth-best on the team, one sack and one interception.
  • In Week 5, he set a career high in tackles with nine against the New York Giants.
     
  • Against the Tennessee Titans in Week 6, he had nine tackles and one sack of QB Vince Young. It was Rogers' first career NFL sack.
     
  • In Week 16 at St. Louis, he recorded six tackles and one interception off Rams' QB Marc Bulger.
2005:
  • Earned his first pro start at cornerback in Week 4 vs. Seattle. He tied for second on the team with seven tackles (five solo) and one forced fumble.
  • In Week 12 vs. San Diego, he tied for the team-high with eight tackles (seven solo), recorded his first NFL interception off of Drew Brees and had three passes defended. 
  • In Week 13 at St. Louis, he had five solo tackles and an interception off of Ryan Fitzpatrick. 
  • Started the Redskins' Wild Card playoff game against Tampa Bay and logged eight tackles (five solo).
  • Started the Divisional Playoff game against Seattle and had five tackles and one pass defended.
 
College Career
 
  • He was named Freshman All-American by The Sporting News in 2001, as he started 10 contests
  • Rogers totaled 58 tackles (46 solos) with 12 pass deflections during the 2001 season
  • Rogers started nine times as a sophomore, tying for the team lead with four interceptions
  • He also collected 48 tackles (34 solos) with nine pass breakups in 2002 
  • Rogers earned the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the nation's top defensive back in 2004 as a senior
  • The All-American and All-SEC choice held opponents to complete only 18 of 65 passes (27 percent) thrown into his territory
  • He recorded 47 tackles (37 solos) with two interceptions and 10 pass deflections during his final season
  • In 50 games with the Tigers, Rogers started 44 times
  • He holds the school career record with 40 pass deflections and also intercepted seven passes.
  • Rogers accounted for 182 tackles (134 solos) with eight stops for losses of 17 yards and two fumble recoveries


High School Career:
 
  • Attended Butler (Augusta, Ga.) High School
  • Two-way player who rushed for 1,332 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior
  • Also had 47 tackles and two interceptions during senior campaign
  • As a junior, he ran for 1,224 yards and scored 11 times
  • SuperPrep All-American, as well as a Prep Star all-region, Atlanta Journal-Constitution "Georgia 75", all-state honorable mention, Augusta Chronicle all-area and all-metro choice
  • Selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game and the Georgia-Florida All-Star Game
  • Also played basketball and averaged 14.2 points per game from the point guard position as a senior and 13.8 points as a junior
  • Lettered in track and posted top times of 10.7 in the 100-meter and 21.0 in the 200-meter dashes.
